Job Description
WHO WE ARE
Sands Australia is a globally connected business advisory, finance and operational solutions firm, headquartered in Melbourne and delivering strategic, growth‑optimised services to 50+ clients across Australia, the UK, US, Canada, the Middle East and Asia‑Pacific. We empower startups, small SMEs, corporate enterprises and government‑funded organisations by integrating financial and operational leadership with a delivery model built to exceed Australian and international standards.
We recruit from a pool of over 300,000 professionals, but only the top 1 in 3,000 make it through our rigorous 6‑stage selection process. We welcome applications from diverse backgrounds and are committed to building inclusive, client‑focused teams.
THE ROLE
This is a broad, hands‑on technical appointment with genuine project ownership, not a production role. We are looking for an experienced Senior Web, Software & Digital Design Specialist to join our international team on an internal remote, part‑time basis, designing and delivering a range of client projects including websites, software solutions, branding, SEO, digital marketing and sales support.
- You will work directly with Australian management across a diverse portfolio of established businesses, growing companies, professional service providers, local government organisations and community‑focused enterprises.
- In addition to hands‑on delivery, you’ll coordinate client requirements, scope, milestones and communication, while ensuring quality and timely delivery.
CLIENTS & PROJECTS
You’ll support internal Sands Australia initiatives alongside client projects across local government and regional organisations; manufacturing, construction and industrial services; accounting, finance and professional services; and engagement with emerging businesses, start‑ups and Indigenous‑owned enterprises.
- Projects may involve corporate websites, internal business systems, software tools, digital automation, marketing campaigns, brand development, and sales enablement for a range of industries.
- Client engagement may involve preparation of briefs, scoping documents, and ongoing status reporting.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Web & Software Development
- Design, develop, maintain, and improve company and client websites.
- Develop and support software, internal systems, integrations, and digital tools; troubleshoot website, hosting, and system issues.
- Translate business and operational requirements into practical technical solutions.
Design, Brand & Growth
- Create professional graphics, presentations, proposals, marketing materials, and social media content to support client brands and campaigns.
- Manage SEO, Google Business Profile, and website performance; lead development of marketing initiatives.
- Support digital marketing and branding activities, including content creation and campaign execution.
Project & Documentation Discipline
- Manage multiple internal and client projects from initial requirements through to completion.
- Maintain organised project files, client documentation, and handover records.
- Record billable hours accurately against the correct client and task codes.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- We are looking for a capable builder, a commercially minded problem solver, and a self‑directed professional.
- Minimum 6–7 years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong website design, development, and maintenance experience, plus demonstrated software or systems‑development capability.
- Strong design, visual communication, and branding skills.
- Digital marketing, social media, SEO, and Google Business Profile management experience, including Google Analytics and Search Console.
- Sales, lead‑generation, or business‑development support experience.
- Ability to understand commercial requirements, recommend practical solutions, and independently manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong English written and verbal communication, sufficient to correspond directly with Australian clients and management.
- Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and professional judgement.
- Reliable computer, internet connection, and a professional remote working environment.
PREFERRED TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Experience across a combination of the following is highly valued: WordPress and page builders (Elementor, WPBakery), HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP; Shopify and other e‑commerce platforms; integration with APIs and third‑party services; modern development workflows; accessibility and responsive design.
- Familiarity with design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, Illustrator) and prototyping workflows.
- Ability to learn new platforms quickly and work across multiple systems.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Competitive, above‑market base salary benchmarked to your experience level.
- Direct exposure to Australian businesses, senior management, and decision‑makers, with regular guidance and feedback.
- Ownership of meaningful projects across a wide range of industries — not repetitive production work.
