The Job:

  • Accurately record day-to-day financial transactions using Xero accounting software, ensuring that the general ledger and subledgers are updated in real time.
  • Manage the full accounts payable and receivable process, including entering supplier invoices, issuing customer invoices, reconciling statements, and following up on outstanding balances.
  • Record all payroll-related transactions in Xero, including wages, superannuation contributions, tax withholdings, and employee entitlements.
  • Perform weekly stock reconciliations to ensure inventory records match physical stock and accounting entries.
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare quarterly tax reconciliations for BAS (Business Activity Statement).
  • Review and verify landed cost calculations during the process of adding new inventory items into the system, ensuring accurate cost allocations including freight, duties, and other import-related expenses.
  • Ensure inventory valuation is accurate and aligned with business accounting practices and internal controls.
  • Support in executing month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciling ledger accounts, and generating financial reports.
  • Ensure all transactions for the period are complete and accurate to facilitate timely financial reporting.
  • Generate various management reports and financial summaries based on client or management requirements, providing insight into cash flow, profit margins, expense trends, and other key financial metrics.
  • Assist in preparing ad hoc financial analysis to support business decision-making, and cashflow forecasting.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or partly qualified in a professional qualification like CIMA / ACCA/ CMA/CA/CPA.
  • Minimum 2 – 3 years of experience in a similar capacity.
  • Knowledge of accounting systems (E.g., Xero and Cin7) is an added advantage.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting concepts.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with financial data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal Skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset.
