ESTIMATOR - AUTOMOTIVE

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Estimator to join our Automotive Body & Paint team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspect accident-damaged vehicles and accurately assess repair requirements.
  • Prepare detailed estimates covering body repairs, painting, mechanical work, and spare parts.
  • Determine whether parts should be repaired or replaced based on damage assessment.
  • Coordinate with insurance assessors, customers, and workshop teams throughout the claim and repair process.
  • Negotiate repair costs and obtain necessary approvals from insurance companies.
  • Verify spare parts pricing and ensure accurate repair costing.
  • Follow up on insurance claims, approvals, and related documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates and claims.
  • Ensure estimates are completed accurately and within agreed timelines.

REQUIREMENTS

  • G.C.E. A/L or O/L qualification.
  • Certificate, Diploma, or Higher Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institute such as CGTTI, NAITA, Technical Institute, or equivalent NVQ Level 3/4 qualification.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in a vehicle body & paint repair shop, multi-brand automobile workshop, or motor insurance claims environment.
  • Practical knowledge of collision damage assessment, garage operations, and spare parts pricing.
  • Sound understanding of motor insurance policies, claim processing, and loss adjustment.
  • Experience in negotiating repair costs and coordinating with insurance assessors and customers.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and computerized vehicle estimating systems.
  • Valid driving/licence.
  • Good communication skills in English and Sinhala/Tamil.
  • Professional, customer-focused, and detail-oriented approach.
