ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT
Join our team and contribute to accurate financial management and the smooth operation of our business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping processes.
- Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, invoices, receipts and payment records.
- Record and monitor sales, purchases, payments, expenses and other financial transactions.
- Update and maintain accurate information in the Distribution Management System (DMS).
- Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Assist with bank, cash and ledger reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly financial and management reports and other reports as required.
- Maintain proper documentation and filing of accounting records.
- Coordinate with the sales team and management to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Ensure accounting data is entered accurately and on time.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties related to the role.
REQUIREMENTS
- A relevant accounting qualification, such as G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) in the Commerce stream, AAT, CA Sri Lanka, CIMA, ACCA, CMA, or an equivalent qualification.
- Sound working knowledge of basic accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, ledgers and general accounting processes.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, SUMIF, SUMIFS, Pivot Tables, sorting, filtering and basic data analysis.
- Good understanding of general business processes and financial documentation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy and numerical ability.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with the sales team and management.
