EXECUTIVE – KNITTING
Location – Teejay Lanka PLC – Avissawella
We are looking for a dynamic and an energetic individual mainly in the area of Technical Knitting to join the knitting team to ensure the implementation world class best practices. Working as a cross functional member with Development team, lab teams, Dyeing & finishing team, Planning team and the management team on execution of all knitting activities while building up relationships with the customer.
The Job
Primary job role will be;
- Analyze new development with development team and select the correct machine and realize the fabric as the exact requirement of the customer, prepare specifications including all the machine setting details in order to guide the mechanics for machine settings in bulk productions.
- Co-ordinate with technical team (Gen & shift), resolve related machine/fabric problems and ensure all tasks are carried out quickly and effectively in order to minimize downtime/maximize efficiency.
- Plan and prepare preventive maintenance schedule and supervise overhaul/ servicing of machines in order to ensure efficient operation of all machinery.
- Need to have knowledge of Apply planning for quality techniques and ensure the machines have been set to the required standards as per specifications in order to reduce faults, facilitate Right First Time (RFT) principle so as to minimise product variation and effectively meet customer requirements.
- Carry out new projects to minimize cost & maximize productivity.
- Perform additional duties commensurate with the current role, as and when requested by management.
The Person
- BSc Degree / Diploma in Textile and Clothing (NDT) from a recognized University or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institute
- Good communication and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Exposure to Lean and TPM will be an added advantage
- Should be IT literate, task prioritization, multi-tasking ability and result oriented while being a good team player
- Should also be proactive, assertive and self- driven with the ability to work in pressurized situations.
