YAALA is a new Modern Tropical Premium Café · Pizza · Bar opening in Tamavua, Suva, Fiji. We invite experienced Sri Lankan culinary professionals who are ready to relocate to Fiji to join our opening team.
1. Pizza Chef
Minimum 3 years’ professional pizza-making experience.
- Pizza dough preparation and fermentation
- Hand stretching and shaping
- Commercial deck/stone pizza ovens
- Pizza sauces and topping preparation
- Portion control and recipe consistency
- High-volume pizza production and service
- Food costing and wastage control
Experience with New York-style and other international pizza styles will be an added advantage.
2. Sri Lankan Modern & Traditional Food Chef
Minimum 5 years’ professional experience in Sri Lankan cuisine.
- Traditional Sri Lankan rice and curry
- Seafood, chicken, beef and vegetable curries
- Hoppers, string hoppers, kottu and roti
- Sambols, mallums and traditional accompaniments
- Sri Lankan breakfast dishes
- Authentic Sri Lankan flavours and cooking techniques
- Modern presentation of traditional Sri Lankan cuisine
- Menu development, recipe standardisation, portion control and food costing
The successful candidate should be capable of developing premium modern Sri Lankan dishes while maintaining authentic Sri Lankan flavour and character.
General Requirements
- Good spoken English
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Good knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety
- Valid passport
- Willingness to relocate to Fiji
- Ability to work structured shifts, weekends and public holidays
