Job Description
Executive – Export Trade Services & International Remittances Department
You should ideally:
- possess credit passes in English and Mathematics at the GCE O/L Examination and three passes at the GCE A/L Examination
- have a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in Trade Services and International Trade Operations, with at least 2 years in an Officer Grade position
- possess sound knowledge of ICC Guidelines including UCP 600, URC 522, Incoterms, and ISBP
- possess sound knowledge of CBSL, IECD, and other local regulatory guidelines
- have knowledge and experience in handling Bank Guarantees any other trade products which would be an added advantage
You will be mainly responsible for:
- advising on export Letters of Credit (LCs) and reviewing LC terms for operational feasibility
- scrutinizing export bills under export LCs
- negotiating and purchasing export bills under LCs
- checking collection (DP/DA) bills in accordance with URC 522 guidelines and local regulations
- following up on export bill payments, reversals, and settlement transactions
- authorizing export LCs and conducting post-disbursement verification checks
- preparing regulatory reports and handling compliance-related inquiries
- handling queries from branches, business units, and correspondent banks
