VICE PRESIDENT – SHARED SERVICES
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic banking operations leader to drive excellence across our centralised operations function. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing operational performance, governance, transformation initiatives, and people development while ensuring alignment with the Bank's strategic objectives. As part of the senior leadership of Banking Operations, the role encompasses oversight of key centralised units including the Transaction Monitoring Unit (TMU), Clearing, Cash Management, Balance Confirmation, Central Operations, Payment and Settlement, Customer Data Maintenance, KYC, On-boarding, and Centralised Credit Processing. Additionally, the role may extend to any other operational teams reassigned in alignment with the Bank's evolving strategic priorities.
THE JOB
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight of centralised banking operations, ensuring strong governance, regulatory compliance, and effective operational risk management
- Drive operational excellence through process optimisation, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, service quality, and scalability
- Translate strategic objectives into actionable operational plans, ensuring effective execution, performance monitoring, and delivery of business outcomes
- Lead and support transformation initiatives by assessing operational feasibility, resource requirements, implementation priorities, and execution readiness
- Foster a high-performance culture through talent development, succession planning, capability building, and strong people leadership
- Strengthen cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement to ensure seamless delivery of operational services across the Bank
- Champion cost optimisation, operational resilience, and innovation while maintaining a strong focus on customer and service excellence
THE PERSON
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional banking qualification will be an added advantage
- Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in banking operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- Strong understanding of shared services models, banking regulations, CBSL reporting and operational risk management
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvement
- Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skill
- Qualifications on change management related certifications will be an added advantage
The position is at Vice President level.
