VACANCY – VILLA OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR
Villa Merak | Digana, Kandy
Villa Merak is a premium private villa located in Digana, Kandy and we are looking for a responsible, proactive and hands-on Villa Operations Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operation of the property.
This is a hands-on role for someone who takes ownership, pays attention to detail and takes pride in maintaining a property to a high standard. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the villa, staff and guest experience are consistently well managed.
Key Responsibilities
Villa Operations
- Oversee the overall day-to-day operation of the villa.
- Ensure the villa is clean, well-maintained, organized and guest-ready at all times.
- Conduct regular inspections of bedrooms, bathrooms, common areas, pool, garden and other facilities.
- Assist the villa team with day-to-day operational work when required.
- Ensure the villa is prepared to a high standard before every guest arrival.
Guest Relations
- Welcome and communicate with guests during their stay.
- Attend to guest requests and ensure they are handled promptly and professionally.
- Coordinate with the villa team to ensure a smooth and comfortable guest experience.
- Handle minor guest concerns and escalate significant issues to management when required.
- Maintain a professional and friendly relationship with guests.
Staff Coordination
- Coordinate and supervise the villa staff and ensure daily responsibilities are carried out properly.
- Act as the main communication link between the villa staff and management.
- Monitor staff performance, attendance, grooming and service standards.
- Ensure staff follow the required procedures and standards.
- Step in and assist the team when necessary.
Maintenance & Repairs
- Regularly inspect the property and identify maintenance and repair requirements.
- Report issues to management promptly and coordinate repairs and service providers as required.
- Follow up on maintenance and repairs until they are completed properly and on time.
- Proactively identify potential maintenance issues before they become major problems.
- Ensure urgent issues affecting guests are attended to immediately.
Villa Standards & Inventory
- Maintain the villa to a consistently high standard of cleanliness, presentation and upkeep.
- Monitor the condition of furniture, fixtures, equipment, linen and other property items.
- Ensure guest amenities, cleaning supplies and operational supplies are adequately stocked.
- Report damages, replacements and purchasing requirements to management.
Reporting & Communication
- Keep management regularly updated on villa operations, guest feedback, staff matters and maintenance issues.
- Escalate any serious guest complaints, damages, safety concerns or operational issues immediately.
- Maintain basic records of maintenance, inventory and other operational matters.

- Hands-on and willing to assist with the work, rather than only supervise others.
- Detail-oriented and particular about cleanliness, presentation and standards.
- Friendly, confident and comfortable communicating with foreign and local guests.
- A good communicator who can effectively coordinate between staff and management.
- Organized and capable of following up on multiple tasks and issues.
- Able to identify problems and take initiative to resolve them.
- Flexible and willing to work according to the operational requirements of a holiday villa.
- Previous experience in a hotel, villa, guesthouse or hospitality environment will be an advantage.
- Basic computer and communication skills are required.
