PURCHASING EXECUTIVE
LOCATION : ANURADHAPURA
This role demands strict adherence to procurement procedures, strong vendor management capability, and the ability to operate under pressure in a hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, and control all purchasing activities in line with approved budgets, policies, and hotel operational requirements
- Source, evaluate, negotiate, and manage suppliers for Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Engineering, and General Stores
- Ensure timely availability of materials while maintaining optimal stock levels and minimizing wastage
- Obtain and evaluate quotations, prepare comparative statements, and secure approvals as per delegated authority limits
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier contracts, and documentation for audit and compliance purposes
- Coordinate closely with Stores, Finance, and User Departments to ensure seamless procurement operations
- Monitor supplier performance, pricing trends, and market availability to ensure best value for money
- Ensure full compliance with internal controls, hotel SOPs, audit requirements, and statutory regulations
- Support cost-saving initiatives and enforce strict procurement discipline across all department
Candidate Profile :
- Diploma or Degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or a related discipline
- Professional certifications in procurement or logistics will be an added advantage
- Minimum 3–5 years of proven experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably within the hospitality or hotel industry
- Sound knowledge of hotel purchasing processes, inventory control, and cost management
- Strong negotiation skills with a firm, ethical, and result-oriented approach
- Ability to work independently under pressure and meet tight operational deadlines
- High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail
- Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel is mandatory
- Strong coordination and communication skills across departments
