PRODUCTION MANAGER

We invite a Mechanical Engineer or a Production Engineer with managerial experience in production in a large scale manufacturing plant to join Dankotuwa Porcelain PLC as a Production Manager.
The Role
Production Manager will oversee the critical initial stage of production where raw clay is shaped into tableware (such as plates, bowls, cups, and mugs) before firing. He / She will ensure that the process meets strict production schedules, quality standards, and cost targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing day-to-day operations to meet daily and weekly production volumes for various tableware product lines.
- Supervising the techniques specific to the process.
- Ensuring quality control and defect reduction by constant monitoring and trouble shooting.
- Overseeing the conditioning, storage, and replacement of moulds to maintain product dimensions and surface quality.
- Allocating resources efficiently to meet production priorities.
- Ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Training, and mentoring supervisors and production workers on production techniques and operation of equipment.
Qualifications & Experience
- BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role in a large-scale manufacturing entity.
- Understanding of ceramic science and / or prior experience in porcelain production will be an advantage.
- Candidates residing in Gampaha, Negombo, Madampe, Kuliyapitiya or Dankotuwa will be preferred.
