As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking motivated purchasing professionals to join our team and support procurement for steel building construction and manufacturing projects.
JUNIOR PURCHASING EXECUTIVE / PURCHASING ASSISTANT
KURUNEGALA
Key Responsibilities
PURCHASING ASSISTANT
- Coordinate purchase requests, quotations and purchase orders.
- Source construction materials, hardware, tools and related items.
- Follow up with suppliers on prices, availability and delivery schedules.
- Maintain purchasing records, supplier details and documentation.
- Coordinate with Stores, Production, Projects and Accounts teams.
- Support timely procurement while maintaining cost and quality standards.
JUNIOR PURCHASING EXECUTIVE
- Handle purchasing activities for construction and building-related materials.
- Obtain and compare supplier quotations and negotiate where appropriate.
- Source steel, roofing, cladding, structural, hardware and project materials.
- Monitor orders, deliveries, lead times and supplier performance.
- Develop and maintain effective supplier relationships.
- Prepare purchasing reports and support cost-control initiatives.
Job Requirements
- Previous experience in Purchasing / Procurement is required.
- Experience in the construction, building materials, steel, roofing or related industry is essential.
- Good knowledge of construction materials, suppliers, quotations and purchasing processes.
- Strong negotiation, communication, coordination and follow-up skills.
- Good computer literacy and ability to maintain accurate purchasing records.
- Relevant qualification in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Business or a related field will be an added advantage.
- Applicants living within 20–30 km of the work location will have an added advantage.
