Consultation on Disability Inclusion and SRH Trainings for the FPASL Staff
Purpose of consultancy:
The Family Planning Association of Sri Lanka (FPA Sri Lanka) is a pioneer institution to initiate and establish a space for Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services in the country. While its aim is to develop components related to health and wellbeing, FPA Sri Lanka also moulds the quality of peoples lives. Being in existence for 70 years, FPA Sri Lanka has made vast strides in every area of family health including family planning. As an accredited member of the IPPF (International Planned Parenthood Federation) FPA Sri Lanka focuses on a rights-based, gender-sensitive framework to provide its services to vulnerable, underserved communities in Sri Lanka, maintaining highest level of confidentiality at all times.
As part of our commitment to inclusivity and leaving no one behind, under the Inclusive Health project, FPA Sri Lanka is organizing specialized training sessions focused on disability inclusion, rights, accessible communication, and the intersection of SRH and Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) for persons with disabilities to enhance service delivery.

- Locations: Chinthahana Eco Retreat – Nainamadama
Scope of Work
The consultants will be responsible for conducting dedicated 3-hour training sessions covering the following key modules:
- Session 01: Understanding Disability, Rights and Inclusion
- Session 02: Communication, Outreach and Accessible Information for Persons with Disabilities
- Session 03: Disability-Inclusive Sexual and Reproductive Health and SGBV
- Session 04: Integrating Disability Inclusion into Programme Implementation
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Work Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional experience in disability inclusion, human rights advocacy, Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare, Gender-Based Violence programming, or related fields.
- Education: Master’s level or above in Disability Studies, Human Rights, Public Health, Gender Studies or related fields. Hands on professional experience in the above areas or related fields is also considered.
- Language Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in both Sinhala and English languages ( trainings should be delivered in Sinhala language ).
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the rights of persons with disabilities, inclusive development frameworks, accessible communication, and inclusive SRH/SGBV service delivery.
- Training Experience: Previous experience in developing and facilitating health-sector or inclusion-related training workshops in Sinhala for diverse stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities
- Conduct the assigned 3-hour training sessions on disability inclusion, rights, accessible communication, and SRH/SGBV for persons with disabilities.
- Develop and deliver engaging presentations, training materials, and interactive exercises in line with inclusive design principles.
- Facilitate interactive learning sessions, including group discussions, case studies, and practical exercises.
- Provide technical expertise on mainstreaming disability and ensuring barrier-free access to health and social services in the Sri Lankan context.
- Respond to technical questions raised by participants and provide practical guidance on inclusive programming.
Remuneration & Duration of the Consultancy
- Remuneration: LKR 30,000 per 3-hour session.
- Duration: The consultancy shall be valid only for the days and hours on which the respective training sessions are conducted.
