RESTAURANT HOSTESS
THE BUNGALOW, GALLE FORT
The Bungalow is one of Galle Fort's busiest and most sought-after dining venues, welcoming a diverse mix of local and international guests throughout the year. We are looking for an experienced Restaurant Hostess who is naturally warm, confident, well-presented, and genuinely enjoys looking after people. This is a restaurant-floor position, not a reception-only role. You will be responsible for welcoming guests, managing arrivals and waiting guests, coordinating table flow, communicating closely with the service team, and helping create the first and last impression of The Bungalow. You should also be comfortable assisting with table service and stepping into other front-of-house duties whenever required. We work as one team.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Previous experience as a Hostess, Waitress, or in a similar guest-facing restaurant role
- Experience in an upscale, high-volume, or internationally focused restaurant environment
- Natural, fluent spoken English
- Excellent grooming and professional presentation
- Warm, confident, personable, and comfortable engaging with different types of guests
- Strong awareness of guest flow, waiting times, table availability, and what is happening around the restaurant
- Ability to remain calm, gracious, and professional under pressure
- Good restaurant service knowledge and confidence assisting with table service
- A genuine team player who is willing to step in wherever needed
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to remain productive without constant direction
- Someone who sees hospitality as a long-term career and is looking to grow, develop, and take on greater responsibility over time
- Peak season in Galle Fort can be extremely busy. This role will suit someone who enjoys being busy, likes a challenge, works well under pressure, and takes pride in turning a demanding service into a great guest experience

EARNING POTENTIAL
- LKR 180,000 – 250,000+ per month during peak season
- Including base salary, service charge, tips, and applicable incentives.
