True Foam (Pvt) Ltd, with a Colombo office and with factories in Buttala, Sri Lanka, is the proud manufacturer and exporter behind Peace Lily (www.peacelily.com.au) — a leading sustainable bedding brand in Australia, New Zealand, and the United States.
Renowned for our premium natural latex mattresses and organic bedding, we are dedicated to enhancing sleep quality while promoting environmental and social responsibility. The Role
We are looking for a motivated Backend Developer with a minimum of 2 years of work experience to join our team and work closely with our tech lead. This role offers a unique opportunity to gradually transfer knowledge and hands-on responsibility. You will be involved in the ongoing development and maintenance of ERP systems, which manage the full production cycle of latex mattresses.
This role offers a hybrid work setup with flexibility. You will work remotely for most tasks but will be required to be on-site at the factory for direct collaboration with the production team, gathering feedback, rolling out new features, and conducting training sessions.
Key Responsibilities
- Feature Development & Maintenance: Build and maintain Laravel/Livewire features across three ERP systems.
- Database Management: Design and optimize MySQL queries, database schemas, and manage external connections (Google Sheets API, Sentry).
- Bug Resolution & System Reliability: Investigate, diagnose, and resolve bugs reported by the production team; ensure data consistency and system reliability.
- Factory Team Collaboration: Maintain close communication with operators and supervisors to gather feedback and implement features based on their requirements.
- Training & Documentation: Conduct training sessions for factory personnel and document new functionality in an accessible way for non-technical users.
- Code Quality & Delivery: Follow code conventions, participate in code reviews, and contribute to improving them over time. Write clear, maintainable code.
- Department Coordination: Coordinate and communicate with department stakeholders to gather requirements, manage priorities, align timelines, and ensure timely delivery of requested features and improvements.
What You’ll Bring
- PHP & Laravel Expertise: Strong understanding of PHP 8.x, OOP, modern language features, and extensive experience with Laravel 10 (routing, Eloquent ORM, queues, middleware, and service providers).
- Livewire & Front-End Skills: Familiarity with Livewire 2.x (component lifecycle, reactive state, form handling) and knowledge of Tailwind CSS for utility-first, responsive layouts.
- Database Management: Expertise in MySQL query optimization, schema design, and handling multi-connection setups.
- Version Control & Codebase Navigation: Proficiency with Git (branching, merging, pull requests) and the ability to quickly understand and work with unfamiliar codebases.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role with a proven track record in building and maintaining complex systems.
- Education: Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
