Head of Payments (Biyagama)
Lalan Group is a diversified conglomerate with expertise in over 12 sectors and has been in operation since 1940. Lalan has an extensive global network encompassing pan-industry interests in rubber, tea and other plantation crops, reforestry, renewable energy, manufacturing and service industries, engineering and the leisure sector.
We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated team player to join our team as Head of Payments.
THE ROLE
The Head of Payments will lead the centralized Group payment function and be responsible for ensuring that payments across all companies, factories and branches are processed accurately, efficiently, securely and on time, while maintaining strong financial controls and compliance.
Job Profile
- Lead and oversee the centralized payment function covering multiple companies, factories and branches.
- Plan and coordinate weekly and monthly payment requirements in line with cash-flow availability and business priorities.
- Ensure timely processing of supplier, statutory, import, employee, utility and other approved payments.
- Review payment documentation, approvals, supplier balances and supporting records before payment execution.
- Coordinate closely with Treasury, Finance, Procurement, Operations and banking partners.
- Monitor and strengthen controls to prevent duplicate, unauthorized or erroneous payments.
- Identify opportunities to improve, standardize and automate payment processes.
- Lead, coach and develop the payment team and establish appropriate performance standards.
- Provide accurate and timely payment, forecasted cash-flow and actual position reports to Senior Management.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or a related field.
- Part Professional qualification in CA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent will be an advantage.
- Minimum 4 years' relevant experience in Finance, Accounts Payable, Treasury, Payment Operations or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of payment controls, banking operations, cash-flow management and financial processes.
- Sound knowledge of ERP systems; experience with Acumatica or similar ERP platforms will be an added advantage.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
Preference will be given to the candidates who are residing in or around Biyagama area.
