ASSISTANT MANAGER

INTERNAL AUDIT

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and conduct internal audit engagements, including branch and departmental audits, in accordance with the annual audit plan approved by the Board Audit Committee (BAC)
  • Assess the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls to protect the Bank’s interests and reduce the risk of financial loss
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of compliance with internal guidelines, policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Draft audit reports for the management and the BAC, ensuring findings are clear, well-supported, and suggest actionable recommendations
  • Monitor the status of audit findings and ensure that significant findings are satisfactorily addressed by the auditee within stipulated timeframes
  • Apply risk-based auditing concepts to capture key and significant enterprise-wide risks, ensuring audit focus is aligned with the Bank's control environment
  • Maintain the highest level of professional objectivity and independence, strictly avoiding any operational responsibility over audited activities
  • Assist the Head of Internal Audit in coordinating with other control and monitoring functions

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Banking, Accounting, Finance, Business Management, Information Systems, or a related field from a recognized university
  • Part or full professional qualification (e.g., CA, ACCA, CIMA, AIB, or CISA/CIA) is highly desirable
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in internal audit, banking operations, or risk management within a financial institution
  • Strong knowledge of banking operations, internal control frameworks, and regulatory compliance
  • Proficiency in audit software, advanced MS Excel, and core banking systems
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and investigative skills
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills (English and local languages)
  • High level of integrity, independence, and attention to detail
