The Assistant Manager – HR will oversee and support the day-to-day delivery of HR operations across the resort, working closely with department heads and employees to foster a high-performing, engaged and service-oriented workforce.
The role will ensure that all HR practices are consistently implemented in line with the policies, procedures, systems and guidelines established by Vella Group Corporate HR.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement and ensure adherence to HR policies, procedures and guidelines issued by Vella Group Corporate HR.
- Ensure property-level HR practices remain aligned with Group standards and requirements.
- Partner with department heads on employee relations, performance management and disciplinary matters.
- Coordinate recruitment, onboarding and employee documentation.
- Monitor attendance, leave and HR administration through the HRIS.
- Support workforce planning and manpower requirements across the resort.
- Coordinate training and development initiatives to strengthen employee capabilities.
- Drive employee engagement, recognition and wellbeing initiatives.
- Support performance appraisal and talent development processes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable statutory requirements and Group HR policies.
- Maintain accurate employee records and prepare HR reports and analytics.
- Identify and escalate matters requiring Corporate HR intervention or guidance.
- Support the implementation of Group-wide HR initiatives and projects.
- Promote a positive workplace culture aligned with the values and service standards of 98 Acres Resort & Spa and Vella Group.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- A degree or professional qualification in Human Resources Management or a related field.
- 4–6 years of progressive HR experience, preferably within a luxury hotel or hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of HR operations, employee relations and labour practices.
- Proven experience in implementing and maintaining HR policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with operational teams.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A hands-on, solutions-oriented approach with the ability to thrive in a dynamic hospitality environment.
