Tech Designer
Smart Home / Automation Solutions

You turn a client brief into a working design – lighting, climate, security, audio-video and networking – then into a defendable BOQ and a winning proposal.

What you'll do
- Site surveys. Visit sites with sales, capture client needs, coordinate with architects and consultants.
- System design. Lighting layouts, single-line diagrams, cable and device schedules in AutoCAD.
- Product selection. Pick platforms and devices that suit the requirement and the budget.
- BOQ and costing. Accurate bills of quantities, supplier quotations, an honest cost model.
- Proposals. Technical write-up, client presentation, demo and clarification support.
- Handover. Pass approved designs to projects and stay available through commissioning.
What we're looking for
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Telecom, Mechatronics, Building Services or IT Engineering.
- 2–3 years in design, estimation, presales, MEP or ELV work.
- Working AutoCAD skills and confident Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Basic electrical wiring, low-voltage and IP networking knowledge – switching, PoE, Wi-Fi, VLANs.
- Clear written and spoken English, and the nerve to present to a client.
- Organised, detail-minded, able to own a deadline without being chased.
A PLUS: Any exposure to KNX, Crestron, Control4, TIS, Lutron, Loxone, LifeSmart, Zigbee or Matter; CCTV, access control or multi-room audio; Revit or SketchUp; a driving licence for site visits.
