Junior Executive - Accounts

Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka PLC invites applications for the position of Junior Executive – Accounts (Head Office – Colombo), from diligent, resourceful individuals with an impeccable work ethic, strong resilience under pressure, and the capacity to operate both independently and collaboratively within a high-performing corporate environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee local vendor payables and trade liabilities, maintaining accurate supplier accounts and supporting operational cashflow requirements.
  • Manage trade settlement processes, customs documentation, and foreign currency transactions for import operations.
  • Ensure full compliance with Sri Lankan tax regulations through timely calculation, reporting, and filing of all operational statutory obligations.
  • Maintain corporate financial ledgers and balance sheets in accordance with Sri Lanka Accounting Standards (SLFRS/LKAS) and internal governance policies.
  • Produce periodic management accounts, operational cost summaries, and performance insights to support leadership decision-making.
  • Uphold robust internal financial controls and maintain audit-ready documentation for internal, external, and regulatory reviews.

Requirements

  • Business Level II of ICASL or equivalent in Chartered Accounting or any other equivalent qualification
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience in the field of Accounts/Finance
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills with a meticulous work ethics.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office applications.
