KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • CUSTOMS ENTRIES & SYSTEMS

    Prepare and submit import and export entries via CUSDEC and ASYCUDA World, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.

  • DOCUMENT VERIFICATION

    Review and verify commercial and shipping documents including invoices, packing lists, B/L, COO, permits and other relevant trade documents.

  • APPROVALS & PERMITS

    Apply for and obtain necessary approvals, permits, exemptions and concessions from Sri Lanka Customs and other regulatory authorities.

  • CLIENT COORDINATION

    Liaise with clients, overseas agents, shipping lines and relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth clearance and timely delivery.

  • TRADE COMPLIANCE

    Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, HS Codes, trade policies and other statutory requirements.

  • PROBLEM SOLVING

    Address and resolve documentation and clearance issues in coordination with Customs and other authorities.

  • RECORD KEEPING

    Maintain accurate records, follow up on pending matters and provide updates to clients and management.

  • SUPPORT OPERATIONS

    Work closely with the operations team to ensure efficient end-to-end handling of shipments.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in import/export documentation or a similar role in freight forwarding / customs operations.
  • Good knowledge of CUSDEC, ASYCUDA World and Sri Lanka Customs procedures.
  • Strong understanding of import and export procedures, HS Codes, trade documentation, permits and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in liaising with Sri Lanka Customs, Port Authority and other relevant authorities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate with clients and overseas agents.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and ability to handle multiple shipments and deadlines.
  • Team player with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
