Role: Operations Executive

Location: Colombo, Sri Lanka

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Operations Executive to join our Hub Operations team in Sri Lanka. If you have strong coordination and communication skills and can efficiently manage vessel operations, voyage activities, documentation and operational reporting in a fast-paced shipping environment, it could be you. You should also be organized, reliable, and able to work collaboratively with global stakeholders while ensuring smooth operational execution and compliance with company procedures.

Could you be our new Operations Executive?

  • Location: GSSL office, WTC Colombo, Sri Lanka
  • Employment type: Full-time

What would your day at GAC look like?

  • Coordinate ship agency operational requirements and voyage management
  • Register and maintain operational jobs in GACship
  • Review and approve PDA entries and operational costs
  • Monitor vessel operations, cargo documents, and SOF submissions
  • Process fund requests and authorize payments as required
  • Ensure compliance with operational procedures and HSE guidelines
  • Maintain accurate operational records and communication logs
  • Support team operations, reporting, and stakeholder coordination

What are we looking for?

  1. Diploma Qualification or G.C.E. O/L and A/L with 1–2 years’ experience in Shipping Operations
  2. Excellent communication skills in English (written & verbal)
  3. Proficiency in MS Office and basic IT systems
  4. Familiarity with GACship, Outlook, SharePoint, and shipping operations systems will be considered an added advantage
  5. Personal Attributes: Strong teamwork, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a proactive approach and ability to meet deadlines
