Assistant Accountant
We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and experienced individual to join our team as an Assistant Accountant. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. This is an on-site, full-time position based in Colombo, with a clear career path to the next level, subject to performance exceeding expectations.
The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements.
- Education: Degree in Accounting or Finance from a recognized university, or professional qualification (ICAS, CIMA, ACCA, CMA – Final Level)
- Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Experience: A minimum of two years' relevant industry experience is strongly preferred. Background in taxation is a plus.
- Age: 30 – 40 years
- Work Style: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaborate effectively as part of a team
Your responsibilities will include;
- Maintain accurate financial statements and records
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Prepare financial forecasting and budgeting
- Handle all financial transactions
- Monitor cash flow and budget
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations
- Conduct internal audits to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Analyzing financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement
- Provide financial advice and recommendations to support decision-making
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance overall financial management and strategy
