ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT / FINANCE EXECUTIVE

Steradian Capital Investments (Private) Ltd is a privately owned, multi-facted consultancy and advisory business providing management services and solutions to both foreign investments into Sri Lanka and existing companies exposed to Sri Lanka.

The Group Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the complete accounting and finance function of all leisure sector companies, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, compliance with statutory requirements, and effective financial management across all properties.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily sales, revenue, cashier collections, and cash handling procedures to ensure accuracy and proper recording.
  • Verify daily cash collections, POS reports, card settlements, and revenue summaries submitted by cashiers.
  • Total Responsibility for the Efficient Functioning of the Finance Functions of the Companies he is responsible for.
  • On-time delivery of all time-based requirements of Reports, documents, Financial Statements etc.
  • Must be willing to travel to work locations out of Colombo as & when required or according to a plan.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly revenue reports and reconciliations for management review.
  • Process supplier invoices, verify supporting documents, and coordinate payment processing with the finance department.
  • Coordinate closely with the Purchasing Officer regarding purchases, supplier balances, stock movements, and inventory-related matters.
  • Review inventory reports, identify discrepancies, and coordinate with the cost controller regarding stock variances.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, supplier statements, cash balances, and credit card settlements regularly.
  • Assist with payroll-related processes and ensure statutory payments such as EPF, ETF, APIT, TDL, and other government payments are processed accurately and on time.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes.
  • Assist with audits by providing reconciliations, reports, invoices, payment records, and supporting documents.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, auditors, banks, consultants, and internal departments regarding finance-related matters.
  • Supervise and guide the Accounts Assistant in daily finance and accounting activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies, internal controls, and approval procedures.
  • Perform any other accounting and finance-related duties assigned by the Group Accountant or Head of Finance.

Candidate Profile

  • Professional qualification in CA / CMA / ACCA or equivalent
  • Minimum 2–4 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance, preferably in hospitality or multi-entity operations
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, audits, and statutory compliance
