Job Description
FACILITY MANAGER
A leading healthcare and residential property is seeking a responsible, experienced, and hands-on Facility Manager to oversee the smooth and efficient operation of a 25-bed hospital and a 3-service apartment in Colombo.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day facilities and maintenance operations of the hospital and apartment building
- Supervise maintenance, housekeeping, security, cleaning, waste management, and support services
- Coordinate electrical, plumbing, water supply, generator, lift, fire-safety and other building systems
- Ensure a safe, clean, functional and well-maintained environment
- Plan and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance
- Coordinate with external contractors, suppliers and service providers
- Monitor facility-related budgets, purchases and expenses
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, fire and statutory requirements
- Maintain records, maintenance schedules, inventories and service contracts
- Respond promptly to breakdowns, emergencies and operational issues
- Lead and supervise facility staff and ensure high service standards
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree or professional qualification in Facilities Management, Engineering, Building Services, Property Management or a related field
- 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a hospital, hotel, apartment / residential complex or similar environment
- Good knowledge of building maintenance
- Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple teams and contractors
- Computer literacy and good reporting skills
- Ability to work independently and handle emergency situations when required
