Human Resources Assistant

The U.S. Embassy in Sri Lanka is seeking eligible and qualified applicants to serve as the Human Resources Assistant in the Human Resources Office.

The selected candidate will manage or assist with a variety of human resources functions at post, that include Locally Employed (LE) Staff services, as well as American personnel services. Duties may include, but are not limited to preparing personnel actions, performance management, training, supporting recruitment activities, assisting with American personnel services, awards program, etc.

The work schedule for this position is: Full Time - 40 hours per week. The monthly gross salary for this position will be Rs. 202,802.58

Qualifications Required:

  • 1. Education - Completion of two years Post-Secondary Education (G.C.E. - A/L) College/University studies is required (Candidate must attach GCE AL results sheet and two year’s College or University studies certificate and transcript).
  • 2. Prior Work Experience - Minimum two (2) years of experience in human resources or administrative field is required (Candidate must attach copies of relevant service/work experience certificates).
  • 3. Language Proficiency -
    • English - Must have a good working knowledge in speaking, reading, and writing. (This may be tested).
    • Sinhala/Tamil - Must have a good working knowledge in speaking, reading, and writing.
  • 4. Job Knowledge - Good knowledge of human resources functions, local labor and social security laws as well as prevailing practices and customs as they apply to compensation, retirement, medical, and other phases of personnel management is required.
  • 5. Skills & Abilities -
    • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook, and Internet).
    • Must have excellent customer service and communication skills to manage in-person and telephone contacts.
    • Must be organized, diligent and able to work under pressure.
    • Good interpersonal relationships are required.
    • Regular requirement for keyboarding skills.
