Principal Officer

Guardian Insurance Brokers is seeking a highly experienced insurance professional to join the company as the Principal Officer.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall control, direction and supervision of the Company’s business activities.
- Report directly to the Board of Directors on all matters of strategic, operational, and regulatory significance.
- Lead the Company’s strategic direction, business growth, and operational governance.
- Uphold the highest standards of professional conduct, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.
- Serve as the primary point of accountability to IRCSL in respect of the Company’s regulatory obligations.
Qualifications & Experience Requirements
- Associate/Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) or an equivalent professional qualification acceptable to IRCSL, preferred.
- Candidates with extensive relevant industry experience in lieu of formal qualification will also be considered.
- Substantial experience in insurance-related activity at executive/managerial level, including recent experience in insurance sales or consultancy work, in line with IRCSL’s prescribed criteria.
Desired Attributes
- Proven leadership experience in a regulated financial services or insurance environment.
- Sound understanding of insurance broking operations, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance in Sri Lanka.
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of driving sustainable growth.
- Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and the ability to engage effectively with regulators, the Board, and industry stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and people-leadership capabilities.
