DRAUGHTSMAN
Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Draughtsman to prepare accurate and detailed Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing drawings for building construction projects. The role will involve developing and revising technical drawings, preparing shop and coordination drawings, incorporating site changes, and working closely with engineers, contractors and project teams to ensure drawings meet project requirements and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) drawings for building construction projects.
- Develop and revise technical drawings using AutoCAD and other relevant drafting software.
- Prepare detailed shop drawings, coordination drawings, and installation drawings for MEP services.
- Interpret engineering designs, specifications, site measurements, and technical information to produce accurate drawings.
- Coordinate MEP drawings with architectural, structural, and other engineering drawings to identify and resolve clashes or discrepancies.
- Incorporate design changes, site modifications, and technical revisions into drawings.
- Prepare and update as-built drawings based on actual site conditions and completed works.
- Conduct site visits where required to verify measurements, existing services and installation requirements.
- Maintain proper drawing records, revisions, and related technical documentation.
- Liaise with engineers, contractors, and project teams to clarify drawing requirements and coordinate changes.
- Ensure all drawings are accurate, clearly presented, and completed within required project timelines.
- Support the project team with any other drafting and technical documentation requirements as needed.
Candidate Profile:
- National Certificate in Engineering Draughtsmanship (NCED) / NVQ Level 4 in Engineering Draughtsmanship ship or equivalent qualification from a recognized institute.
- Minimum 05 years of relevant experience in MEP drafting, preferably within building construction projects.
- Proven experience in preparing MEP, shop, coordination, and as-built drawings.
- Hands-on experience with 3D drafting and modelling.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with the latest version will be an advantage.
- Hands-on experience in Revit/BIM will be an added advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing services and their coordination within building projects.
- Previous experience with structural or construction drawings will be an added advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy and ability to work to deadlines.
- Good communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineers, contractors, and project teams.
