WEBXPAY is a leading Sri Lankan fintech company delivering digital payment solutions across online payments, POS, QR payments, payment links, collections, and business payment services. As we continue our growth journey, we are seeking a commercially minded and hands-on Head of Finance to lead our finance function and help drive sustainable growth, operational discipline, and financial excellence. The role aligns with WEBXPAY's finance responsibilities covering settlements, reconciliations, treasury, reporting, compliance, and financial governance.
Position Overview
The Head of Finance will be responsible for the overall financial leadership, governance, and strategic management of WEBXPAY's finance function. This role oversees all aspects of financial planning and analysis, financial management, treasury management, budgeting, settlements, reconciliations, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, taxation, and risk management, while ensuring the highest standards of financial control and corporate governance.
As a key member of the leadership team, the Head of Finance will partner closely with senior management to drive sustainable growth, optimise profitability, strengthen financial resilience, and provide strategic insights that support critical business decisions. The role will play a pivotal part in shaping the company's financial strategy, supporting expansion initiatives, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and stakeholder requirements.
This position offers a clear leadership pathway, with the opportunity to progress into the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) as the organisation continues to grow and evolve.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall finance function and finance team.
- Manage financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting.
- Oversee cash flow, treasury management, and working capital requirements.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly management accounts and board reports.
- Maintain robust financial controls, accounts receivable/payable management, reconciliation processes, and settlement governance.
- Oversee merchant settlements, bank reconciliations, pricing validation, revenue assurance, and settlements.
- Ensure compliance with all tax, statutory, regulatory, and audit requirements.
- Coordinate external audits, internal audits, and regulatory reviews.
- Drive cost management, profitability analysis, and business performance improvement initiatives.
Key Requirements
- Fully qualified CA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum 3-5 years of finance experience.
- Experience in fintech, financial services, banking, payments, technology, or a high growth business environment will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, banking, treasury, taxation, budgeting, and corporate governance.
- Experience managing audits, controls, compliance, and regulatory reporting.
- Strong commercial acumen and excellent analytical skills.
- Proven leadership ability with experience developing and managing finance teams.
- High levels of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
