Job Summary
We are looking for a strategic, commercially oriented Global Supply Chain Manager – Global Sourcing to develop and manage Verger’s global sourcing and supply network. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying reliable global sources, developing strategic supplier relationships, ensuring supply continuity, optimizing cost, and supporting Verger’s global growth. You will work closely with Sales, Technical, Quality, Production, R&D, Finance, Agronomy, and Logistics teams to ensure the right quality, cost, availability, and lead time to meet customer and business requirements.
The role requires regular travel and the ability to work across key sourcing markets, including India, Europe, Africa, Indonesia, Madagascar, and other strategic locations, to build supplier relationships, identify new sourcing opportunities, assess market conditions, and coordinate global sourcing and supply activities.
Your role will involve
- Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for raw materials, botanicals, extracts, essential oils, and natural ingredients.
- Identify and develop reliable international suppliers and alternative sourcing locations to strengthen supply continuity and reduce supply risks.
- Build and manage strategic supplier relationships, including supplier evaluation, negotiation, onboarding, and performance monitoring.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, MOQs, lead times, and commercial conditions to achieve competitive sourcing outcomes.
- Analyse total landed costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization through alternative suppliers, origins, volumes, and logistics solutions.
- Develop supply plans considering customer demand, seasonality, crop cycles, market availability, and supply risks.
- Ensure the availability of critical materials through appropriate stock levels, supply buffers, and contingency plans.
- Coordinate global sourcing and supply activities across key markets including India, Europe, Africa, Indonesia, Madagascar, and other strategic locations.
- Collaborate with Quality and Technical teams on supplier qualification, audits, specifications, approvals, and compliance.
- Work with Sales, R&D, Agronomy, Production, and Technical teams to identify new materials, alternative origins, and sourcing opportunities.
- Monitor global raw material markets, crop conditions, price movements, availability, logistics, and emerging sourcing opportunities.
- Provide management with insights on sourcing risks, market trends, cost movements, and supply opportunities.
