JOB TITLE
LAWYER (ATTORNEY-AT-LAW)
Location: Colombo 03, Sri Lanka
Recovex International provides cross-border debt recovery, commercial dispute resolution and legal and enforcement advisory to businesses worldwide, supported by a trusted international partner network. We are seeking a motivated Junior Lawyer to support our recovery and legal escalation work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review commercial contracts, invoices and supporting documents to assess the legal position of recovery cases
- Draft letters of demand, settlement agreements, payment plan agreements and legal notices
- Support the preparation of cases for legal action, including plaints, affidavits and court documents
- Attend court and related proceedings in debt recovery matters when required
- Liaise with clients, debtors and partner law firms in Sri Lanka and overseas
- Conduct legal research on recovery and enforcement procedures in different jurisdictions
- Ensure all recovery activities are carried out ethically and in line with applicable laws
REQUIREMENTS
- Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka (recently enrolled lawyers are welcome)
- LLB degree; knowledge of commercial, contract and civil procedure law
- 0-2 years' experience; exposure to debt recovery, banking or commercial litigation is an advantage
- Excellent legal drafting and communication skills in English; Sinhala and/or Tamil is an advantage
- Strong analytical and research skills with attention to detail
- Professional, ethical and able to manage multiple files at once
