The Colombo Swimming Club, one of Sri Lanka’s premier members’ clubs, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the below positions.
CHIEF STEWARD / (ASSISTANT MANAGER – STEWARDING)
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all activities of the stewarding department.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of all kitchen areas, including dishwashing, storage, and waste management.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules and procedures to maintain high standards of sanitation.
- Train, manage, and motivate the stewarding team to ensure efficient operations.
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to support their needs and maintain a smooth workflow.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure standards are met.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Chief Steward or similar role in a high-volume kitchen environment.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent understanding of sanitation regulations and best practices.
- Ability to manage inventory and control costs.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain a positive attitude.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
