We are a leading multinational company in trims, labels and packaging solutions for the apparel industry, with a BOI facility at Katana, Negombo, supplying leading global apparel brands and retailers across Europe and the USA.
We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Head of Operations to lead our manufacturing operations and drive productivity, quality, cost efficiency, timely delivery and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate will be a strong people leader with proven manufacturing experience, sound business acumen, and excellent analytical, problem-solving and continuous improvement capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end manufacturing operations, ensuring production, quality, cost and delivery targets are achieved
- Drive key KPIs including productivity, capacity utilization, quality, wastage, downtime, labour efficiency and on-time delivery
- Ensure effective coordination with Planning, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance and HR for seamless order execution.
- Drive Lean, 5S, Kaizen, root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Optimize the use of manpower, machinery, materials and other resources, while maintaining cost controls.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, environmental, labour, statutory and customer requirements.
- Lead and develop the operations team, building a culture of performance, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Provide management with operational insights and recommendations and support strategic manufacturing initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related field. MBA/postgraduate qualification will be an advantage.
- 10+ years of manufacturing/operations experience, including significant experience in a senior leadership role.
- Experience in Garment, Garment Trims, Labels, Printing, Packaging or export-oriented manufacturing is highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of production planning, productivity, quality, cost management and operational excellence.
- Proven ability to lead large teams and cross-functional operations.
- Strong leadership, analytical, communication and problem-solving skills, with knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and MS Excel.
