Intern – AutoCAD
Are you a fresh graduate or diploma holder looking to get hands on experience in a real industrial setting? We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented AutoCAD Intern to support our Engineering and Maintenance team.

- This is a 6-month internship, not a permanent job: You will receive an intern allowance while gaining valuable hands-on industry experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment. It is the perfect steppingstone for recent graduates.
- You need to be here during standard factory hours: This requires full-time commitment during standard factory hours.
- Location: We are based in the Katunayake Export Processing Zone. You must be comfortable commuting here daily or have boarding arranged nearby.
What You Will Actually Do:
- Create and update 2D AutoCAD drawings for factory floor layouts and machine placements.
- Draw up layouts for new production lines and factory expansions.
- Go out onto the factory floor, take physical measurements, and check them against our old CAD files.
- Turn hand-drawn sketches from the engineering team into clean digital CAD files.
- Keep all our technical drawings organised in one digital folder so the team can easily find them.
What We Are Looking For (Educational Qualifications):
- You are following or have recently completed a Diploma, Higher National Diploma (HND), NVQ, or Degree in: Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architectural Drafting, Building Services Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Quantity Surveying (with AutoCAD knowledge).
Your Skills:
- Good knowledge of AutoCAD (2D is mandatory; 3D knowledge is an advantage).
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Basic understanding of engineering drawing standards.
