Head of SEO
Company: Confidential (UK-backed E-commerce Group)
Location: Kiribathgoda (Office-based)
Type: Permanent
Working Hours: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM IST
Compensation: Negotiable / Market Competitive (EPF, ETF, Insurance + Performance Bonus)
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and execute comprehensive SEO strategies from scratch.
- Manage technical SEO audits, site speed, architecture, structured data, and migrations.
- Drive on-page optimization, content planning, and backlink authority building.
- Transition from hands-on execution to recruiting and leading a dedicated SEO team.
Mandatory Requirements:
- 5+ years of hands-on SEO experience, primarily with e-commerce or retail websites.
- Strong, proven Shopify SEO experience (product/collection pages, technical SEO, structured data, site speed optimization).
- Deep technical SEO expertise (crawling, indexing, schema, core web vitals) with a solid working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Expert proficiency with Google Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog, and Ahrefs or SEMrush.
- Excellent written and spoken English proficiency.
- Proven success growing organic traffic and revenue on competitive keywords, with concrete evidence.
Shortlisted candidates will undergo a rigorous practical evaluation, including a technical site audit, a 90-day SEO plan, and a presentation to leadership.
