Commercial Manager (Export / Import)

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Manager to join KSPA Packaging (Pvt) Ltd, a leading organisation in the manufacturing and packaging sector. The role will be responsible for managing end-to-end import and export operations, ensuring timely customs clearance, regulatory compliance, efficient shipment coordination, and cost management across international trade activities.
Job Profile
- Manage end-to-end import and export operations, including documentation, customs clearance, shipment coordination, and delivery.
- Prepare and manage import/export documentation, including CUSDECs, commercial invoices, packing lists, COO, and insurance documents.
- Handle Letter of Credit (LC) documentation and coordinate with banks for timely processing.
- Ensure compliance with Sri Lanka Customs, BOI requirements, HS codes, Incoterms, and applicable trade rules.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, clearing agents, and relevant government authorities.
- Monitor shipments, vessel schedules, container movements, and customs clearance to minimise delays and demurrage/detention.
- Monitor freight, duties, demurrage, detention, and clearing costs and identify opportunities for cost optimisation.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on shipment status, costs, pending clearances, and compliance matters.
Person Profile
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 - 10 years of relevant experience in import/export operations, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of Sri Lanka Customs, BOI processes, ASYCUDA World, LC handling, and trade documentation.
- Sound knowledge of Incoterms 2020, HS codes, trade finance, and duty structures.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Professional qualifications such as CILT, CIM, or relevant import/export qualifications will be an added advantage.
