Melsta Hospitals is seeking a dynamic, organized, and patient-focused professional to join our team as a Surgical Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate elective and emergency surgical procedures with consultants, patients, and relevant hospital departments.
- Schedule operating theatre bookings and ensure optimal utilization of theatre resources.
- Liaise with consultants, nursing teams and support departments to facilitate seamless surgical services.
- Coordinate pre-operative investigations, admissions, and patient preparation.
- Ensure all required documentation, consents, and insurance approvals are completed prior to surgery.
- Communicate surgery schedules, changes, and updates to all stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records and generate reports related to theatre utilization and surgical activities.
- Deliver excellent customer service by addressing patient and consultant inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, quality standards, and patient safety requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Healthcare Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in hospital operations, surgical coordination, operating theatre administration, or a similar healthcare role.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and coordination skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Previous experience in a JCI-accredited hospital will be an added advantage.
