QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our team in establishing and maintaining world-class quality standards in our automotive seat belt manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in developing quality systems, ensuring product compliance, and supporting production processes in accordance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and OEM customer requirements. You will also collaborate with production teams to support and enhance production processes, guarantee the highest quality in every stage of manufacturing. The role requires frequent travel to our sister sites in USA & China for product transfers and should be comfortable working in a cross-cultural environment and capable of coordinating closely with teams overseas to ensure a successful technology and knowledge transfer.
Key responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and applicable automotive regulations and customer-specific requirements.
- Develop and maintain Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEAs and control plans.
- Develop inspection standards, and control plans tailored to seat belt components in accordance with the applicable regulations such as ECE R16, FMVSS etc.
- Conduct inward, in-process and final inspections.
- Coordinate product and process testing according to customer and regulatory requirements.
- Support testing of seat belt components and assemblies, including tensile/strength testing, buckle testing, retractor testing, webbing testing, durability testing, and functional checks.
- Use SPC, Cp/Cpk, Pp/Ppk, control charts, and statistical analysis to monitor process performance.
- Conduct root cause analysis and leads to corrective/preventive actions for internal quality issues and customer complaints.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits.
- Train production and inspection staff on quality standards, procedures, and tools
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
Core Qualifications & Requirements:
- B Sc Engineering Degree (Mechanical Preferred) + 3 years' experience in a quality assurance role.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards
- Prior experience in IATF 16949 or AS9100 Quality Management System is highly valued.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Hands-on experience with FMEA, APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA etc.
- Experience with Infor SyteLine ERP system is an added advantage.
