Team Lead - Finance Operations
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the General Ledger accounting team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and other financial documentation.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with other finance teams, such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Financial Planning & Analysis, to ensure cohesive financial operations.
- Serve as the point of contact for financial queries and provide expertise on complex accounting issues.
- Communicate financial results and findings to senior management.
- Lead and participate in projects aimed at improving financial systems and processes.
- Assist in the implementation of new accounting software and tools.
- Drive automation projects and efficiency initiatives within the GL function.
- Adhere to given SLAs and monitor achievement.
- Bank & Balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes by ensuring all necessary tasks are completed, such as accruals, prepayments, and adjusting entries.
- Analysis of financial data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- Implementation of internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Fully/Partly qualified in CA, ACCA or CIMA preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in similar capacity.
- Proven experience with financial reporting, general ledger processes, and month-end/year-end close procedures.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
