Team Lead - Finance Operations

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the General Ledger accounting team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and other financial documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with other finance teams, such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Financial Planning & Analysis, to ensure cohesive financial operations.
  • Serve as the point of contact for financial queries and provide expertise on complex accounting issues.
  • Communicate financial results and findings to senior management.
  • Lead and participate in projects aimed at improving financial systems and processes.
  • Assist in the implementation of new accounting software and tools.
  • Drive automation projects and efficiency initiatives within the GL function.
  • Adhere to given SLAs and monitor achievement.
  • Bank & Balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes by ensuring all necessary tasks are completed, such as accruals, prepayments, and adjusting entries.
  • Analysis of financial data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
  • Implementation of internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Fully/Partly qualified in CA, ACCA or CIMA preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in similar capacity.
  • Proven experience with financial reporting, general ledger processes, and month-end/year-end close procedures.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
