GENERAL MANAGER - SOURCING & SUPPLY CHAIN (INTIMATES)

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Researching and identifying potential suppliers, assessing their capabilities, reliability, and suitability for the company's needs.
- Negotiating contracts, pricing, payment terms, and other terms and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable deals while maintaining quality standards.
- Continuously monitoring costs, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and implementing strategies to optimize sourcing expenditures without compromising quality.
- Cultivating strong relationships with suppliers to foster collaboration, address issues promptly, and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Working closely with suppliers to establish and maintain quality standards for materials and products, conducting quality inspections and audits as necessary.
- Coordinating with production and inventory teams to ensure adequate stock levels of materials while minimizing excess inventory and associated costs.
- Identifying potential risks in the supply chain such as disruptions in supply, geopolitical issues, or quality issues, and developing contingency plans to mitigate these risks. Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to sourcing, such as labor standards, environmental regulations, and import/export laws, tariff and duties to improve the competitiveness and continuity of the business Promoting sustainability initiatives in the supply chain by sourcing materials from environmentally responsible suppliers and implementing eco-friendly practices that align with the business strategies on sustainability
- Collaborating with product development teams to source new materials and components for product prototypes and launches.
- Identifying areas for process improvement in sourcing and supply chain operations, implementing best practices, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Generating reports and analyzing data related to sourcing activities, supplier performance, cost trends, and other key metrics to support decision-making and strategy development.
WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE
- Degree in management / supply chain / marketing.
- MSc in textile or equivalent qualification will be an advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in Sourcing & Supply Chain in apparel industry.
- Excellent skills in communication, negotiations, planning and problem solving.
