Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled QA Engineer to join our remote team in Sri Lanka. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our software products meet the high standards of quality and usability expected by our clients in the United States. You must be fluent in English and able to work United States hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement comprehensive test plans, test designs, and test cases for new software products and features.
- Perform test activities on web and mobile applications.
- Develop and execute manual and automated tests to identify and report software defects and ensure that they are resolved.
- Collaborate with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to identify and prioritize software requirements and features.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure that software is developed according to best practices and quality standards.
- Continuously improve our testing processes, methodologies, and tools to optimize the quality and efficiency of our testing efforts.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders in the United States to report testing progress, raise issues, and provide solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance and 1 year as a quality assurance engineer.
- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Selenium, Appium, Postman, or similar will be an added advantage.
- Completion of ISTQB foundation level certification would be an added advantage.
- Experience in writing test cases in a test management tool and experience in Jira.
- Should have knowledge of SQL and API testing.
- Experience testing web and mobile applications on various platforms (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android).
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
- Ability to work United States hours.
