FORMULATION SCIENTIST - SKINCARE
Who We Are
We are Ceylon Elements (Pvt) Ltd, a company that is setting up its foot mark in Sri Lanka to manufacture beauty, skincare, and wellness category products. We are looking for potential candidates to develop our skincare products, to match the rapid growth and launch of several amazing new products. We are seeking a Formulation Scientist Skincare to join our Research and Development Department.
General Summary
The Formulation Scientist - Skincare will formulate, develop new and unique product ideas and initiatives, that are on trend and aligned with the brand vision. We are looking for an individual who thrives in a fast-moving environment, with a positive, can-do attitude that can adapt to a changing environment and shifts in priorities.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Identifying the latest advancements in raw materials, develop and formulation will be a key role but not limited to
- Meeting with raw material vendors
- Overseeing all relevant safety testing
- Creating new products and testing the product
- Certification process
- Manage all internal and outsourced phases of the product development process, making sure products are within the budget, on time and compliant with specifications in respective developed product briefs.
- Have experience in executing established development processes and timelines
- Work well independently and in a team environment.

Experience and Skills
Science graduate specialized in Chemistry
- 2-3 years of experience in skincare product formulation / development role with the knowledge of cosmetology and or natural plant chemistry will be an added advantage
- Experience in Laboratory/R&D in skincare
- Ability to convert laboratory formulation to bulk production Experience in process and product quality control
- Knowledge in regulatory matters, local and international standards
- Creative thinking skills/problem solving and ability to expedite processes
- Excellent organization, planning, and analytical skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple development projects simultaneously Project management experience a plus but not required Proficient in Excel, MS Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
