Teachers - Upper School Grade 6-13

We are a Private National School guided by the Buddhist Philosophy, teaching the National curriculum in the English medium to take up examinations conducted by the Department of Examinations of the Ministry of Education, Sri Lanka.

Our Student population is over 4000 and our staff strength over 450, incorporated in 1999, and reached 25 years in January 2024. We have branch schools in Kalutara, Kelaniya, Maharagama and Kurunegala.

We are looking for qualified and experienced personnel for immediate engagement, who are able to teach National Curriculum in English medium for the following subjects at our School at Hokandara, Thalawathugoda.

Grade 6 - 11 Subjects

Advanced Level Subjects

  • Biology
  • English & English Literature Roman Catholicism
  • Economics
  • Science & Health Science
  • Sinhala

Qualifications

A first Degree from any state or UGC approved foreign university in Sri Lanka or abroad, or from any institute of repute registered with Tertiary Education Authority, Teacher Training Certificate from NIE or any college of Education. Post graduate qualification (Dip in Ed, MA, MSc) from any state or foreign University preferred.

Experience

Minimum of 5 years' experience in a school of repute in Sri Lanka preferably teaching local curriculum preferably in English medium. Those who have experience in teaching for British examinations may apply. Those who possess foreign exposure will have an added advantage.

Achievements in sports and aesthetic activities are an added advantage. You should be passionate about teaching, dynamic, possess leadership qualities, positive attitudes, listening skills, classroom management abilities with excellent communication skills in English. Total commitment for the tasks entrusted and loyalty towards the school is essential while ability to work long hours as and when required is mandatory.

Age Between 25 years to 45 years. Those who have retired from state service but below 60 years and maintaining high personality will be considered.

Working hours - 7.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m., and ready to work extended hours.
