Job Description

We are seeking a young, energetic accounts assistant. You will be working directly with our accounts team. We are looking for someone who has:

  • Solid low-level accountancy and basic bookkeeping skills
  • Computer literacy and working knowledge of accounting packages (Quickbooks, MS Excel)
  • Solid understanding of financial systems and processes
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate financial data and make recommendations.
  • Willing to work flexible hours (5.5 day work week)
  • Strong understanding of local tax laws
  • Excellent communication skills, both English & Sinhala
  • Applicants from the Homagama area preferred but not mandatory.

Key responsibilities

  • Support with managing taxes and related duties
  • Administrative and bookkeeping support
  • Review and reconciliation activities
  • Support the preparation of management accounts and month-end duties

Qualifications and Skills

Technical qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in accounts field
  • Minimum 1-2 years relevant previous experience
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks Accounting software
  • Strong competency of MS Excel

Soft skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from the team
  • Proven ability to build and maintain positive working relationships
  • Multitask and work flexibly to deal with multiple creative requests at a time
  • Attention to detail
  • Good time management and organisational capability
