MBSL Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka & Finance PLC (MBSL), a well-established Financial Institution and a subsidiary of Bank of Ceylon is looking for a dynamic and result oriented individual to join our team for the following post.
IT Consultant
Job Role:
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
- Establish communication channels and kickoff meetings.
- Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC), database management, and system integration.
- Evaluate vendors, issue RFPs/RFQs, negotiate contracts, and finalize agreements for hardware, software, and services.
- Identify stakeholders, establish communication plans, and ensure regular updates on project progress.
- Identify project risks, assess their impact, and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions.
- Determine resource requirements, allocate budgets, and coordinate staffing needs for the project team.
- Develop a detailed project schedule outlining tasks, dependencies, milestones, and timelines.
- Maintain project documentation, including plans, progress reports, meeting minutes, and issue logs.
- Develop testing strategies, oversee quality assurance processes, and ensure system functionality meets requirements.
- Provide technical guidance, review technical specifications, and coordinate with IT teams for system integration.
- Coordinating training sessions for end-users and providing ongoing support during system implementation.
- Develop training materials, conduct user training sessions, and manage change requests during implementation.
- Conducting post-implementation reviews, evaluating project success, and identifying lessons learned for future projects.
Candidate Profile and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- MBA or a Master's in Project Management, Information Systems, or a related discipline is an added advantage.
- Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience managing IT projects, preferably in the banking or financial services sector.
- Hands-on experience in the banking industry, particularly in roles related to banking operations, IT systems, or financial services.
- Familiarity with core banking systems and IT infrastructure, with the ability to understand technical requirements and communicate effectively with technical teams.
- Deep understanding of banking processes, products, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication skills with a proven track record of effectively communicating with stakeholders at various levels within an organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in identifying and mitigating project risks.
- Experience in managing changes to project scope, schedule, and budget while ensuring alignment with project objectives.
- Experience in quality management and testing methodologies.
- Experience in conducting post-implementation reviews, evaluating project success, and identifying lessons learned for future projects.
Certifications:
- Project Management Certifications: Such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM).
- Certifications related to the specific core banking system being implemented (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional for Flexcube).
- ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) certification.
