We're looking for someone to join our team as a
LEGAL ASSOCIATE
(LITIGATION AND CONVEYANCING)
Velox Partners, a global tech-based legal entity, operates in Australia, Singapore, and Sri Lanka, providing innovative legal solutions across 13+ jurisdictions. Beyond conventional practices, we specialize in corporate & commercial, conveyancing, Litigation, M&A, and due diligence. We are looking for an eager young lawyer to join our litigation and conveyancing department.
Role:
- Carrying out searches at the Land Registry, Preparing Pedigrees and Title Due Diligence Reports
- Drafting and reviewing various Notarial Documents
- Drafting and reviewing various types of instruments such as Letter of Demands, Plaint, Answer and Written Submissions required for litigation
- Maintaining legal records, documents and client files
- Collaborate with external counsel when necessary
- Appearing at Courts in Colombo District
- Filing documents at Court Registry and collaborate with subject clerks
- Liaising with local and international clients
- Involvement in due diligence, legal research, and advisory
Requirements:
- An Attorney-at-Law with a LLB Degree from a recognised local or foreign university
- Should possess 1-2 years of professional experience, including practical involvement in litigation, conveyancing, and courtroom case management.
- Ability to thrive under pressure, meet deadlines, and approach challenges with a positive attitude
- Ability to work independently
- Smart, pleasant, and outgoing personality
- Excellent written and spoken English language skills
