Cost & Estimating Engineer
A pioneer in the manufacture of Fiber Glass Boats of all types, for export, approved by the Board of Investment (BOI) and classification societies, requires a Cost & Estimating Engineer to be recruited immediately with following prerequisites:
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and project budgets
- Collect and analyses data and information in order to estimate costs associated with manufacturing a product
- Work proactively towards cost target objectives in collaboration with others
- Collaborate with engineers, design team, accountants, sales team, clients, and contractors on estimates
- Work with sales teams to prepare estimates and bids for clients
- Travel to job sites to gather information on materials needed, labor required, and other factors
- Recommend ways to make a product more cost effective or profitable
- Evaluate a product's cost-effectiveness or profitability
- Develop project plans for the duration of the project
- Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labor expenses
Requirements & Skills
- A degree in engineering or quantity surveying or a related field
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the manufacturing or construction industry
- Good interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills
- Good communication skills and strong analytical skills
- Results orientated and organized with the ability to deliver against deadlines
- Knowledge of estimating techniques
- Computer Literacy in MS Office packages and knowledge of SAP would be an added advantage
