Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in mechanical system design and estimation. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and estimating mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for tendering purposes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Estimation:
- Develop comprehensive mechanical system designs for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and project budgets for tender submissions. Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, codes, and regulations.
- Analyze tender documents and identify the technical requirements and constraints. Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate cost information.
- Tender Preparation:
- Prepare technical and commercial proposals for tender submissions. Review and evaluate tender specifications and drawings.
- Collaborate with the bid team to ensure all aspects of the tender are addressed.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Generate regular project status reports and communicate progress to stakeholders. Ensure all tender documents are completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Technical Expertise:
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in mechanical engineering and technologies.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical system design and estimation. Proven experience with HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical codes, standards, and regulations.
- Proficiency in mechanical design software and tools.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead project teams.
