CHEC Port City Colombo (Private) Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC). We are also the master developer for the USD 1.4 billion Port City Colombo (PCC). Spanning 269 hectares, PCC is a sea reclamation project joined to the current central business district of Colombo.

We are currently inviting highly skilled and qualified candidates to apply for the following position:

Executive - Public Relations and Marketing Communications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the development and execution of the PR initiatives and activities identified as part of Port City Colombo's yearly PR plan to foster a positive brand image of the project within the local and international market.
  • Coordinating special events that reinforce Port City Colombo's brand positioning in collaboration with the Marketing team and identified vendors, including executing the corresponding PR and Marketing communications amplification.
  • Developing and managing positive relationships with local media to support the overall PR strategy of Port City Colombo.
  • Assisting with the development of company press releases, statements, and announcements.
  • Responding to local media inquiries in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Assisting with monitoring media coverage (traditional and online) as part of the Company's reputation management initiatives.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelors' degree or equivalent academic qualification in Marketing, Communications, or Public Relations.
  • At least 3 years' of working experience in a public Relations agency or a communications role in the Real Estate industry, or similar work environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills in English. Ability to communicate in a second language, including Sinhalese or Tamil, would be considered an added advantage.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Must possess strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Must showcase the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve identified PR objectives.
