Job Title: Career Guidance Counsellor (Part-time)

Ladies' College is a private school within the Church of Ceylon Diocese of Colombo and is under the purview of the Education Ministry of Sri Lanka.

Over the past years, the Career Guidance Unit at Ladies' College has grown. We have connected with many foreign universities and established partnerships not just to send students for higher education but to facilitate training programs for staff, online collaboration programs with students and summer camps in the holidays. We have also tied up with international companies such as Unifrog and Cialfo, offering these platforms to students and striving to equip our students with information and maximum opportunities. We believe in serving every student and facilitate internship programs and placements. Soft skills development is carried out for students in Grade 12 on a weekly basis.

As we broaden our team, we are looking for a passionate individual who is willing to work with students, building relationships and helping them become ready to face the world.

Interested candidates should ideally,

  • Assist students with their higher education aspirations.
  • Be willing to meet and talk with students and parents about career choices and higher education opportunities both locally and overseas.
  • Collate examination results and compile student transcripts.
  • Write Letters of Recommendation and other documents related to university admission. Help students applying to students with the application procedure.
  • Assist and review applications going via UCAS and Common App and submit predicted grades, certificates, transcripts and letters of recommendation over the varied portals for each student.
  • Organize Orientation programmes and soft skills development programmes for students.
  • Build relationships on behalf of the school with universities.
  • Correspond and attend virtual programs hosted by universities and connecting with universities through forums such as IC3, Webifairs and campus connect.
  • Attend university exhibitions and build relationships with local universities.
  • Attend guidance counsellor programmes/ conferences organized by UCAS, College Board and Common App.
  • Organize the school university fair.
  • Liaise with universities and establish partnerships that will facilitate teacher training, student summer programmes and collaborative projects.
